“Once upon a recent time
In the not so distant future past..
They made a book of knowing.”
So begins this moving story for children and adults originally made as a film for the Dronfield Arts Festival 2018.
The animation is based on my poetic story about the relationship between children and their confusing world which is in crisis. Using Botticelli’s “Primavera” as their guide, the fairytale like narrative is a beautiful and moving story of young people growing up in our uncertain world. It touches on the ‘lost words’ – words describing nature which have been taken out of Junior dictionaries to be replaced with ‘tech’ words. And shows how creativity might be the solution to ecological problems and the distractions of technology.
